What do you got & why do you want to swap? I have one I just took off my 1980 XS650-G you can have. It's a little rusty but it can be cleaned up. Or are you lookin for something cool like off a sport bike?

Need a replacement. I just got my hands on a 79 XS650 Special and one leg of the center stand is broken off and missing. Almost dropped the bike without even riding it yet. should have looked before I leaped. The sidestand is ok, I just prefer to use the center stand.

Oh, and if anybody needs, I've got the sweptback handlebars sitting in my garage. I repaced them with, well the box states that they are cruiser bars. Just felt all cramped up with the old bars. If anybody wants the old bars, you can have them.

I'm sure my old one will work for you. Let me know if and where to send it. I'll see if I can clean it up a bit tonight.

I'd take it to your local powdercoater when you get it. Around here it would cost about $30 to have it blasted & coated. On something that gets as much abuse as a centerstand, paint really does not cut it.

I mounted it up right away jst to make sure everythings ok, perfect fit. My spring is different though. It's a lot thicker guage and about 1-1/2" diameter. When I get it back should I use your spring or the one from my bike? Thanks again, you saved me a big headache.

As long as the lighter spring holds up the centerstand I would use it. Less stress on the frame and stand mounting points.

I received a PM from Jayel for the bars and as I was writing him back, I had an epiphany. Here is what I wrote him, please read it and let me know what you guys think.
Hey Jayel,
You know what, just send me your info and I'll send it. Cafe_shop took care of me, I should pass it along. We should start a thread for this. Make it a sticky. Call it "Need a part - Send a part" where you can only post for things you need if you have something to give out in return. Kind of like "Pay it foward". There would have to be a good set of rules though so that it wouldn't be taken advantage of. I know you can get just about anything on Ebay, but there is a lot of stuff that people are willing to rip you off for. Thank God for Mike'sXS. I saved a bundle on some of the stuff I almost bought on Ebay. But for those hard to find or if your in a bind, parts I think we should have a thread like this.
If you guys agree, we should try to come up with some rules such as
1. You cannot post for something you need without posting something to give away.
2. You cannot charge the other person unless shipping is extravagant and then you should come to some form of agreement with the other party as to cost.
any other suggestions?
