i have a 79 xs chop, and its not charging!!! i put new reg/rect, rotor and sator on what can i do now

run the tests on the components. If you don't have a manual go to biker.net, they have pdf of the factory manual. Make sure the brushes are contacting the rotor. A quick check is to see if turning on the ignition makes the rotor a magnet. The voltage regulator is adjustable, again look at the manual for the procedure. I had low voltage and adjusting the regulator got it to the proper 14.5v.
