Well.....I can't add much to what's been said: unique, beautiful, awef***ingsome!! I know I can't show the pictures to any of my bikes, or they won't leave the shed for months....

Guys, we have to watch out for this lad---if he built that at his age, think of ten years down the road!! This is gonna be fun to watch!

Beautiful bike!

Well guys, the show has been absolutley amazing. I have had so many people that have been very open and accepting of the bike and it is humbling. The bike was entered into the "Radical Asian Custom" class and there was some pretty stiff competition. The "ChopRocket" ended up taking first place. That was pretty cool.

A rolling work of art, you deserve the trophy. I think this is what Yamaha meant to design in 1969 but just couldn't pull it off Rolling Eyes

Well guys, the show is over and the old girl took Asian Best of Show! I am humbled!!! There was 318 bikes in the show and about 90 were asian. Unreal. Thanks for all of the gracious comments. Next, I will be doing a '75 Honda CB 750 for a buddy of mine and my own 80" Shovelhead Harley Davidson that is in a '49 Panhead frame. They should be pretty sweet too. If anyone would want me to turn a wrench on their scooter I would be more than happy to do so! I am in northeast Nebraska and you can shoot me a message. Thanks again guys, I am grateful for the comments. By the way, I will get a video of it when I get all the tuning done.

Hey guys, its been a while since I have written about the ChopRocket. As promised I have uploaded a video to YouTube.com that lets you hear how it sounds with the engine mods and that 2-1 high pipe. I have to say this thing is an absolute riot to ride. It has waaaaaaaaay more zing than the stock version did. There is just no strain sitting at 80 mph. She just hums right along, albeit the hum is really freeeeeekin loud! haha. I would have had this video up a while ago, but I had some ignition issues. Guys, PamcoPete is the real deal. That guy will bend over backwards for you. You will not regret buying that ignition set up for one second of your lives. Anyhow, sorry about the quality of the video, I am not Stephen Spielberg. The sound is all that matters. Turn it up! haha. Hope you guys enjoy!

The tank is an old Suzuki GS 450 E tank I had layin around the shop from another build. It had such odd lines it wouldnt have looked good on any other build. It fits the scooters persona absolutely perfectly. Of course this isnt a bolt on deal, but well worth the time to make it work. Smile

Guys and Girls, the Choprocket is up for auction on eBay. Not enough garage space and too many projects. I love this bike and loved building it, but it is time for her to move on to greener pastures, hopefully to someone who wants an incredible bike but doesnt have the time/means to build it. Thanks for all of your comments throughout the build, I appreciated every one of them. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Congratulations again oldkarkid........................Going back over you post you mention replacing the bottom case........As the cases are machined as a pair how did you get away without any leaks around the main seals

A product called plasti-guage. It is small pieces of plastic that engine builders use to find the clearances between rod and main bearings to the crankshaft. I torqued the cases, checked for high spots, and filed down the cases to match each other. It took a while, but worked like a champ. The only leak is in the crush washer on the top end oiling line. It took a lot of patience but was worth it I think.

There wasnt any problem around the races, so i didnt need to touch them. I suppose you just have to check to see. We get our plasti-guage from a company called APW out of Omaha, NE. Any good engine shop will know about the stuff. A very thin coating of copper Permatex was also used, note: very thin. It is easy to overdo the stuff. good luck on finding the plasti-guage. Smile

In case anyone wanted to know, I weighed the scoot yesterday on a certified scale and it came in at a slender 360 lbs. The book says that it should be about 427 dry. I dont know if thats right, but you can sure tell when you ride it. Went on a 200 mile trip with it last week and she got about 50mpg's when I was easy on it. Not so good in town hot rodding at Americruise, but still better than any of my cars Smile
