i notice the sharper the bend at the header, the more discolouration, is this correct?, i like the look of the pipes that follow the frame, it makes the bike look clean, but i don't like the discolouration.

Theoretically, that is probable. The curves of your avatar can cause undue heating and/or blueing as well.

More likely is the sharper the bend the cheaper the pipe the thinner the chrome..
