Well I have been around here for a while now watching all your builds and asking lots of questions to prepare myself for my build. Now it's finally time that I start building an old/new school bobber, Here are my plans so far...
Frame 39* rake, 4.5" strech and 200mm rear (G&L)
Seca 400 Front End
Built xs 650 (maybe with big bore kit) kick start only
60 Spoke Rims
Offset Sproket kit
No Front Brake
Rear Brake with line lock (lots of big hills in B.C.
otto cross bars
Custom Cut Rear Fender
Forward Controls (G&L)
Bat/wiring box (G&L)
Springer seat (custom wrapped)
2 into 1 exhaust (wrapped)
All new wiring
Sporty Tank
any Parts from Mike XS
And a whole lot more as I go I'm sure.
Oh ya and a whole lot of picks..
Later Chad

Oh, it´s NOT Before Christ? So it´s a place????
Come on all you 650´s - is this an international website or not? Do you want other countries people to get into here or not? Do you want to have access to much more knowledge than you can ever get from any english speaking XS650-website or not?
So, in case of YES, then please (!!!! - I mean PLEASE!) talk clearly. Please. You should remember that this website is supposed to be international. I am so happy that most of this world agrees to english language being a sort of standard, so that one can join worldwide communities with same interests. So all we need is simply to be aware that many "users" out there want to talk to YOU, but cannot do according to your standard.
Just tell me that I am wrong - and I´ll sign off immediately.
Just in case that some people will read this - I am very ready to open a new topic about this .... are you up for this?

maybe its just me, but I dont expect everyone to give me a geography lesson if they happen to post what they are near( even if they just use initials), if I didnt know and wanted to know I would look it up. you could name a crapload of places in america and I would still have no idea where they are unless I just felt I needed to look it up. hardly seems like something to rant about. I guess it seems that this thread is more about the bike then some hills in B.C. that he needs brakes for.....

it's the story of the ugly American, America being a large continental country is lucky in that it has a homogenize language and unlucky in that we don't learn other languages, when I hear someone speaking a second language I figure he knows more than I do, while English is fine language (plus if we find a nice word we like we just use it) outside of all the words that sound the same and mean different things, and few spelling quirks it's easier than some other language for technical talk, ever see a German word that takes two paragraphs and a cement mixer to pronounce? Spanish gets convoluted also altho' we are learning more of it,
isn't que correcto XSJuan?

well its better(?) now with nation wide TV regional accents aren't so pronounced, I know when I went down south in the sixties it was a stretch to understand Texans and people in Miss. and Georgia and the Appalachian accent had to be heard to believe it was (American) English, it's funny but us Iowans (and parts of the midwest) are the only ones without a accent

""""only ones without a accent""""
I did the 20 year construction program for the Phone co in downtown Boston.......after living in Fl for 15 years I sounded like a cracker.....it was constant joking about the accents.....always though they sounded loonier that I did of course....Bumpa (bumper) ....Bouga (berger)...Dwog (dog)...Potty ...(party)....ect.......

I wanted to run the seca frontend because it is 2" longer and the axel mounts forwerd but the spread on the trees is to narow for the rim in the pick no room for spacers so might use an xs1100 front end instead.
