I'm in the process of rebuilding a master cylinder off of a 79 xs1100 for my dual front disk conversion. I want to separate the plastic reservoir from the body so I can clean and repaint the metal parts. I don't want to break it, and hope to get some advice from someone who has done this before.
Thanks!

twist it sideways to see the inside cavity, the cup is held in place by a large O-ring best thing to do is turn it and work some brake fluid into it to lube the O-ring then it will pop out a lot easier than forcing it off dry

Thanks jayel! I figured that it poped off, but is seemed that I was using too much force. I'll try using your method.

I think there's a small plate with screws through it in the bottom that has to come out first. Then it will twist off.

The reservoir popped right off after I worked some brake fluid around the O ring.
Thanks for all the help!
