Well I was pulling my carbs apart for cleaning and one butterfly came easy and the the other got all messed up. I would like two to match. They are marked with 135 on the face. It is an 83 Heritage Special with BS 34 CV carbs.

Yeah, just wanted to pull everything apart and see how it all works and clean everything. I know........ I have been doing this since I was a kid. I had my new toys apart 15 mins after unwrapping them on Christmas day.

The butterfly twisted as I was pulling it out and got wedged. I didn't want to, but had to resort to grabbing it with a vise grips and the upper edge that seals against the carb passage got kinked and bent and deformed a little bit. I'm sure it is enough to cause all kinds of problems.

I have a set of BS34's sitting on my workbench that I'd like to get rid of as a complete set. I'll let them go cheap if you're willing to buy them complete. They're set up for a 1977 XS500, but most of the parts aside from the jets should be interchangeable. Let me know if you want them.

Best way to reach me is by email. enoddon @ hotmail.com

Sorry guys I got a new one. It is together and pretty. Not running yet but pretty. Not the carbs fault.

Same thing happened to me. Same carb, same model and year, and same number stamped on butterfly.

ine was caused by a machining burr left behind when the shaft was tapped for one of the m3 screws. I wrecked the thing before I knew it, and I try to work with a lot of care.

Will post the serial no. here for fun. We might have numbers that are very close to one another.

ost important, where did you get the replacement? I have searched the net with indifferent results.
