Hello,

What's the easiest way to remove the battery/electrical box?

I've removed the airboxes, unfastened everything and disconnected the harnesses but I can't seem to be able to finesse it out of the frame. There's a plastic box bolted to the bottom of the metal box ... I'm thinking that's the ... ECU?

I have an 83 Heritage Special.

rectifier/regulator you don't have a ecu you need to talk to barb she know how the battery box comes out, it will come out if you get it turned right

Hello, hello !! Smile

I'm following up on this.

The tricks to remove the battery box are as follows:

- remove everything that's screwed / plugged into it (this is key, I really mean everything).

- remove the rubber pieces from the rear mounts.

- move all the wiring stuff out of the way (this is obvious).

- from the left side of the bike, grab the front of the battery box and pull towards the back (think door opening motion) and finesse the box out of the frame. It should come out.

I'm putting together a new electrical box using some wood pieces. This is temporary.
