Hello,

I have an 83 Heritage Special. I'd like to replace the standard bars with drag-style bars.

What does this conversion incur?

What else will have to be replaced, if anything?

what do you mean by drag-style bars? I just switched my bars over to the clubman/caferacer bars and it was super easy. the grips slide right off, the controls and levers are loosened with one screw/bolt, slide them off. Then just use an allen wrench to take off the old bars... put the controls and all that on the new bars before putting them up cause it's alot easyer, then once back on, adjust to preference... carefull with the levers though, if you overtighten them the bolt will break inside it... don't ask how I know.

And make sure your master cyclinder (brake fluid reservoir) is level, so as not to get air in the line.

Drag bars consist of usually no rise with some or no pull back. Make sure you get bars that are 7/8" to fit stock controls onto also.

You can carefully reroute the clutch and throttle cables so the extra length will not be a problem........BG
