I need a TCI box for a 81 special II G. You know, the black box under the battery box. Yeah well I just bought one from ebay the seller said it was good and turns out it doesn't work. Surprise Suprise right? Well if anyone has one that ACTUALLY WORKS or knows someplace where I might be able to find one please let me know.

John, I like my vehicles as stock and original as possible. But not to the point of going to the dealer for every little thing,Mike's does just fine for that. It disapointed me when I found out, after I traded an old car for my 78 SE 4 years ago that the engine and wiring was from a 81 SH. But you know it is still Yamaha and it certainly was not butchered up in any way.All the wiring was clean and properly routed and every thing about the bike look stock minus the points. When I opened up that CDI box, aside from looking brand new for which I was amazed, for electronic technology which is 25+ years old, it is pretty "Hi Tech". With either ignition system on these bikes I would not change a thing (adjusting points and timing, I actually miss that part of the game). Ya know John, I enjoy wrenching on this bike as much as riding on it! I will post this link every time I see the word problem and CDI in the same paragraph!
