I guess is the right area for this post. This is one thing I miss about my HD, the kickstand, You could park them in quicksand and it stay wiyhout falling. Anyway I wasn't thrilled with my sidestands stability before I lowered my XS, 11" rear shocks and shortened front end 1", So now it will barley stay on stand without falling to the left. I'm wanting to shorten it at least an inch, either by cutting or heating and bending, and weld an end of some sort on that would be more supportive. Anybody out there done any work on theirs? Any pics, ideas or pitfalls to be on the lookout for?

One idea would be to buy an aftermarket kickstand, should be able to find one that would fit or fit with some modification.

Are you takling about the centerstand or the sidestand? I would locate another one just to experiment with untill you've achieved the actual design and support in the stand......Jack

I solved the problem heating up the sidestand with the torch while the bike was leaning on the stand and just putting slight pressure against it. Be careful not to overdo it or you will ruin the stand.
