....not sure where to post, so here I am. Question, will a center stand from an xs 850 fit an xs 650 from the same year?

Different part numbers but that doesn't mean much. I have a SR500 front fender on my bike since Yamaha has cross referenced this part # to the XS650 standard.
But I would bet you $10 it is not a bolt on swap.
79 xs650F 1T3-27111-02-00 STAND, MAIN
79 xs750F 1T4-27111-01-00 STAND, MAIN
80 xs850g 3J3-27111-02-00 STAND, MAIN

I won't take you up on that bet and say you win...lol
I found pics of both and I think the xs850 is much, much wider where it would bolt on. I will keep looking for an '80 xs650 stand. Mine has gimped out on me and lost its arm(or whatever the technical name for it is) which, I hear, is quite common on these bikes.
Do you think the stand would be the same on '80-'84 xs650's ?

80 and 81 have the same #. It changes in 82.
