i have a 75 and have been collecting parts to swap over to a disc brake on the rear. i am using a mag wheel for now, when i find a spoke wheel for a disc brake i will change it out. i finally found a cheap torch set to braze the mounts for the master cylinder on. it ain't real pretty, but they work. the brazing job is a little rough, but i should be able to clean it up with a grinder. paint it and it will be ok. so know i have the dual disc on front and the disc on the rear.

i don't know about fashion, but the slotted rotors don't need drilling.

drilling does the same thing as slots, lets any gas buildup that would lift the pads from the rotor to bleed out at the holes/slots. the sharp edge of the holes/ slots cleans the pads of any metal from the rotors from building up on the pads. as the rotors wear the metal has to go somewhere. with the holes/slots the edge of the holes/ slots shaves the metal from the pads.

Slotted rotors arn't as prone to cracking like some drilled rotors are. I dunno if thats a problem on these bikes, but I know on cars it can be.

i think that when a rotor is slotted or drilled as part of being made is less apt to have trouble ,than if the rotor is drilled or slotted after it is made.
