Flat seat on a '83 XS650 special II ?

Not sure what forum heading to put this question in. I just got an 82 special with 15K and plan to customize it. I love the look of a mid 70's flat 2 up seat. Any ideas about how to get one to fit in place of the stepped 80's stock seat?

That's something I've been wondering about myself. Sure would be nice to be able to just slide back on a single level seat for riding comfort.

Maybe we never got out of the anal expulsion stage ....generally 1-2 years old.....and it still feels like our first tricycle metal seat......xsjohn

All said in done the thing was designed by short small people not big Americans. anal explosions john sounds like your diet needs improveing let off the beans and beer.

Then again maybe you just need some finely tunned needles to cure the air problem.

dont know about fitting a standard seat, It could be made to fit. But I was told mikes cafe seat actually is more comfortable then any stock seat.

I've got a spare '83 H Special seat pan and a roll of carpet padding, been thinkin'........Too many damn projects as it is.

I used some high end carpet padding (the green stuff) and my seat is now pretty comfortable and has great memory
