I'm looking for someone from the Christian Motorcycle Association to come to my parish to speak, maybe as part of a "blessing of the bikes" service this summer. I've checked the internet and there is a chapter near me in Sioux City IA, but it seems that nobody checks the email.
Does anybody have any contacts in the NE Nebraska, South Dakota, SW Minnesota, or West Iowa area?
Peace,
Bsquared

bsquared, There is a story about the first blessings of the bikes at this link:

www.motorcycleevents.c...ail&id=220

There is contact information for the Christian Motorcyle Assoc in the article.

Contact: Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA)
Phone: 870-389-6196
E-Mail:
Web: www.cmausa.org

"During the first nine months of 1998, thirteen local bikers died as a result of motorcycle accidents. We were approached and asked “can’t we do something?” Of course the only thing we could possibly do was seek God’s help. Out of that conversation came our first (local) Blessing of the Bikes."

lyle

Good news: "The Lord is my shepherd(He is), I shall not be in want" (but I admit I want more parts, accessories and performance for my xs650) Even better news: "And my God shall supply all your need..." (maybe I can move the parts from my want list to my need list) The best news: But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (I win)

Thanks for the participation. I've checked out the CMA site for the Sioux City chapter and haven't heard from anyone. I'll try again.
Bye the way, not only was Moses a biker, God played baseball...it all started in the big-inning. And Joseph played tennis....he served in Pharoah's court...and Balaam was the most flexible man in the Old Testament...he tied his ass to a tree and walked 20 miles.
I like the one about Moses, even if it wasn't an xs...but don't we sing at Christmas about angels singing "gloria...on xs-elcious deo?"
Peace,
Bsquared

I followed the link to the CMA website and they have a chapter locator. I was connected to a man from the Sioux City IA chapter. They will do a bike blessing service, provide music, and preach the Gospel. It was a good lead.
Peace,
Bsquared

Hey Lyle, The Sioux City Chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association is doing blessing of the bikes and a worship service here in Hartington NE, Aug. 10, 2008 at 8 PM. I'll try to get some photos up here.
Tomorrow, we have Pr. Al Peratt, from Set Free Ministries coming and speaking. He is a former convict, drug dealer, gang banger and has a great testimony. His website is www.setfreesodak.com
Peace,
Bsquared.

I used to laugh too, but something sunk in after awhile. I was spending more energy not believing, than just finally saying, "I give up, I can't figure it out, Lord, just forgive me and help me to believe." I'm a pastor now, and I still don't have it figured out, I'll let God do that and just trust Jesus. You were baptized, just let the water and the Spirit do it's work. God bless you.
Peace,
Bsquared

I'm not a bird watcher. That shot was in the Badlands in South Dakota...just miles and miles of dry grass and rock formations.

Bsquared,

I've notified Russo, site administor, that a member is using pornographic language and recommended banning this person. Some members have their children/grandchildren involved in this site.

My wife and I thank you RG, for notifying the site admin. My 9 yr old is intested in XS650s and a future rider, often looking over my shoulder when I'm reading the posts.

Bsquared, Thanks for letting us know about Al Peratt, from Set Free Ministries. He has a good web site and is doing a great work. May God bless all of you and hope everything went well today. Did Al take your 650 for a ride ? lyle

If children are interested then perhaps you should keep religion off here, some people are just as offended by people pushing religion as you are by those words.Hypocrites
