So its back together, but I can't get it to start. I am getting a spark, I've got gas in the lines, but the most I will get is a backfire. I was wondering if the timing was just so off that it wouldn't even start? I set it just like in the manual (the right side open just after the F mark, turned it 360 and then did the same to the left). If I hold the starter it will keep craning and backfiring.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

It's entirely possible that the 2 cylinders are swapped(on the points) try switching the points wires from one coil to the other.

Make sure you are using fresh gas..........not gas thats been sitting around for months. Also any grease or oil on your points will cause grief.
Is your battery at normal voltage..........12.5 volts with bike off.

I'm with Tom, been there done that. Switch the leads from the points where they connect to the coils under the tank.

I finally got some time to mess with it. Switch the leads and it started right up...

Thanks
