Is it possible to change the countershaft oil seal (front sprocket seal) without tearing the whole engine apart? In the manual they have the engine apart. Nothing else is leaking so I hate to do a complete teardown, but with this much oil on the chain its just making a huge mess.

yes it's easy to do mikesXS has the seals you might want to change the gear selector seal at the same time, chamfer the edge of the case before reinstalling new seals, it can be done with a chamfering tool or a sharp pocket knife all you want to do is the edge of the case holes, make sure your sprocket nut is tight (72-87 ft. lbs.) after you change it if it's loose it will still leak

Pull the sleeve out of the old seal first and that will give you lots of room to get in there and pry it out.
