brake bleed problems

I rebuild my front calipers (left right) put the whole thing together. When I try to bleed the brakes, I get the air out but the brake lever still travels to the stop. The brakes are not solid at all?????? the master cylinder is a new after market one.
I took a MC off my brother in laws bike, put it on and bled out the system.
The feel is stronger but still squishy. I bled out allot of oil, and even tipped the bike side to side to assure I got all of the air out. What might be the trouble?

something that worked for me was if you can get a second person to help this is dificult by yourself. unbolt the master cylinder. open it. you need to have the second person open and close the fitting on the caliper. while you are tipping the master a little to the front pull the lever to bleed. you should do this in every direction.
What I found worked best was three good pulls then wait 10 seconds repeat. Pain in the butt not getting fluid everywhere and pulling the handle aswell. this whole process took me almost 25 minutes to get all the air out
the bikes system is so small that any little air bubble will give squish.

BTW I use to ride a water buffalo. metalic blue was a pain in the ass. For as little as I know now I knew less then. The speedo only worked intermittentantly I never payed attention always ran out of gas. a little heavy but fun to ride

take your master cylinder loose from the handle bar so you can tilt it far enough to get the air out of this location (leave the cap on) the air wants to move up the hose but won't go back into the plunger due to downward angle

Secure the MC in the position jayel specified, tie back the lever, and let it sit overnight. Then pop the cap and pump the lever in the morning.

another thought what are you using for brake line hoses? thirty year old rubber hoses will blow up like a balloon, on my 74 TX bled brakes 2-3 times still soft, could grab the hose and feel it swell when squeezing the lever, put on new stainless braided and wunderbar! good solid brake
