Where did you get the drag pipes from and what size are they? I'm looking to add some to the end of my stock headers. They look awesome. I want to get them cheap and so far I've found them in JC Whitney for $80 a pair and thats a little steep for a few pieces of pipe.

If you have a chop saw with a metal blade you can too. I just bought some 1-1/2" tailpipe from napa, cut slash cuts on the end of a eight or nine inch piece. I used a mig to weld them on a old set of head pipes. I also welded a 3/4" washer to the head of a bolt, and put them about three inches in from the end of each pipe for baffling. I found 90 degrees in the pipe gave the best performance. They sound a awesome! Hightemp BBQ grill paint and heat wrap(pain in the arse BTW) finished it off.

They look awesome. 1-1/2" huh? Looks like I need to get to Napa and head over to my parents house while they're out of town and borrow my dad's chop saw. I don't have a welder though so I guess I'll just run them straight. I like the heat wrap, too. My headers are rusty so I was gonna try to pick some up from Napa. I wonder if they make it in black?

that stuff I have is supposed to be black, if you want it darker you can paint over it with hi temp paint. I would suggest you try to find some one that could weld them on for you, exhaust leaks can cause funking performance. You might have to change the carb tuning as well, less restriction in the exhaust will create more flow and a lean condition, just be aware of that.

I did the same thing with a Suzuki single years ago, got the slash cut at a auto parts store, made some marks as to how I wanted it lined up and took it to the local muffler shop. They welded it for 5 bucks.
