I havn't seen tudawg on here posting lately but I know he re phased his.
I'm an old HD Stroker motor head so I see a big bore kit / cam / carbs in my
future and possibly a re phase as well.

I had a machinist in loomis, CA, do the rephase on the crank with new HP rods and mains from Mikes. Did a great job. The worst part was indexing in the 277* .440 cam from Megacycle (hard faced cam and rockers) - nobody really told me how to do it right till one of my student's fathers, a head mech at the local Honda agency showed me. If you are a neophite like me the "lobe center" method was a pain to learn. The results were a bit less torque on the low end, but smoother at mid and high end revs. The rest of the switch involved some port work, J&E pistons (760cc) shaved to 9 1/2:1 comp and fitting some Mik 36 radial Flatties with ac pumps, spring kit and elephant feet tappet adjusters. The loping sound at idle is different. I still need to do some fine tuning - possibly go back to the VM 36 carbs (UMMM says they get better torque at mid range) that I had before the conversion.
