Finally done with my latest. Started with 82 Midnight Special. Tracker, Street fighter Bobber type build, not sure what to call it.

Wanted to do something different than the HotWing glass seat so I shortened the original frame and fender. Found a low cost Ultima Sportster solo seat seemd to fit good.

Complete rewire, all the usual chassis XS650 upgrades, XJ550 wheels with Dunlop K180 DOT flat track tires.

Kick start only, kind of loud, a rip to ride. Will try to get a pic attached if I can. (not to good with these forums)

Would consider selling if anyone is interested. In Michigan

I really like the look of your bike. If you don't mind me asking, what did you use for a rear fender? David Very Happy

Stock rear fender with about 6-8" cut off the front. The rear frame loop was cut off the frame and moved up. That way I could use the stock fender mount holes, bushings and frame tabs.
I will put a few more pics in my folder

Red frame, black bike, most of my bikes have used that color scheme, I like it. What did you do for a battery/electrics, I see whatever you did you saved a lot of space and weight.

And those wheels - they look trick. Are they a bolt-on? Or do you need to change bearings, axles, etc., maybe fab up spacers?

That's a real nice looking bike you got there. It's the 1st one I have seen that looks 'right' with that kind of seat swap.

ore than likely a battery eliminator by accel. My buddy runs one on his old shovel head, lights surge with rpm.

I am running a AGM sealed battery and the CDI in the pan under the seat. The kind you can lay on its side. It's an Interstate brand, about $20. Just enough to run the CDI until the engine fires. Then with only headlight, tailight, and ignition the charging system can keep up.

Wheels were from an 82 XJ550. Axle size and sprocket mount was different. Front brake was same.

Thanks for the compliments.

18 x 2.15 rear 19 x 1.85 front Not a bolt on. Takes some shims, spacers, and head scratchin. Couldn't find the right bearing swap to make it work without shims.

Is the motor stock? If so what did you have to change the jetting to with the exhaust and air filters.

Thanks!

Nice bike! Got a question about the tail light. LED? Nice and small. Where'd you get it from?

Best,
