Just wondering what fitment problems I may run into using a sporty peanut tack on an '80 xs650???

depends on what year of tank and how many gallons. you can run the early small tanks pretty easy, however the late model 3.3 gallon and 4.2 gallon are too long for the stock backbone.

As long as the length is o/k it should be a fairly easy tank to adapt to your XS.

Like the style, almost like an old military bike. No chrome, trying to remove as much of it on mine as I can.

Pelski - Sorry, I thought it was the 2.8 King tank. I thought the only way to get 3.3 out of the old flat bottom tanks was Frisco style.

I'm running one on my bobber. Just check the petcock clearance. Mine rubbed the engine and ended up causing the tank to spring a leak...nothing JB Weld couldn't cure, though!

I have a late 70-early 80's sporty tank, the tunnel is too narrow to fit over the back bone. What is the deal?

I have a sporty tank, it only has one petcock hole, do you just use a splitter or how do you get around this?

Just use a "T" to slit the line to each carb
