Will xs 750 triple clamps fit an xs 650? I think some 750's had 36mm forks, which is the diameter im looking for, because I want to run a radian front end to match my radian rear. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

You have to remove the stem from the 650 lower and press it into the 750 lower. I used a lathe to cut the welds. I then used a hydraulic press to remove each stem. I then put the 650 stem in the lower triple tree clamp. To align the stem, mount the axle and the forks into the triple tree with the tree upside down. This puts the end you need to weld at the top of the forks. Having everything mounted (even upside down) ensures proper alignment. The last step is tig welding the stem to the bottom of the triple clamp.
Hope this helps.

'61,
In 1977 Yamaha made the XS750D and XS750 2D. The "D" had 35mm forks, the "2D" and all subsequent XS750's had 36mm forks.
