xs2 - front disc shim?

posted this over at the 650 garage but not much traffic....

working through my front end, I noticed that my disc has a bit of 'play' in it?

after digging around different web sites that show the micro fiche of the disc/hub area I noticed that I must be missing what they call a 'damper'

anyone know where I can get a replacement or make one? Tried Mike'sxs with no luck?

There is also a bearing mounted in your disc. Maybe it's gone bad? Oh, and you might want to try the "other" Garage, more traffic over there .....

Doug I will dissassemble the front end I have and ship the whole disc assembly as com off bike for $40.00

What all does that include?

Is the disc good...I could probably use a good one.

would include disc, half axle and nut as come from forks.

I think I really just need the shim...

is it made of metal or plastic/rubber?

I'm in the process of restoring my xs2 and have always noticed this play as well. After removing the disc assembly, and looking at some fiche, I believe I'm also missing these ( 306-25837-01-00, DAMPER, BRACKET DISC).

The rest of my front end is good. I wonder if this item is a hard plastic, or if its metal. Fabricating some new ones might not be too difficult.

I might be interested in taking that front assembly off your hands.

yea that post is 14months old, probably could do it for $60.00 now.
