I just bought some new headpipe exhaust gaskets, put them on and now theres air shooting from the headpipes. I clamped the bolts as tight and safely as i could and it still leaks. And also after about 4500 rpm it feels like i loose all power and the engine just wants to wind out, could this be an effect of the leak? Some advice please.

I guess I got lucky on my installation. Did you take it back apart and check that the gasket seated properly and had "Squished" the gasket. When I tightened mine the header bolt was starting to through the end of the acorn nut.

Added a washer for extra spacing and tightend the nut as far as i could, still feel some air pushing out. And when i jump on it or go above 5 grand it looses all of its pep, could this also be due to the open pipes and not enough back preasure?

My topend approved with the new pipes. Mine was cutting out at about 5 grand with the cut off stock pipes.

You could try making the header gasket out solid aluminum and apply some high heat silicone being the standard header gasket compresses when tightened and looses it's capability to seal..........Jack
