I know this has been mentioned before on the forum but I lost a year or so working on my bike after buying some parts. I want to replace the original roller bearings in my steering and maybe replace the springs in the forks.
I bought the bearings last year from Mike's XS but never put them in and I haven't bought replacement springs yet. Should I stay with stock? I'm about 6' and 200 lbs. I ride conservatively most of the time. Very little highway riding. Mostly back roads <50mph.
Any hints or tips would be appreciated. The front end has never been off before.
Bob

Get progressive springs, either Progressive Suspension (expensive) or the ones from Mike's (better price). Use about 7 ounces of fork oil instead of the specified near 6. The forks work better with more oil in them.

I like castrol 20/50...stiffens the fork up just right. Less dive. All that fancy fork oil is just meant to take your money.
