i have a bit of an odd question about the regulator, is there anyway i could hook it up to a 1 wire ac system on a bike? i have a mx175 i added a lighting coil to and put lights on, only problem is i keep blowing the headlight from the voltage. i have a spare regulator off a 75xs and would like to use that. is this any way possible?

The 650 regulator works by turning the voltage on and off to the rotor. This turns the stator on and off. The regulator you need shunts the extra voltage to ground to keep the voltage right. You might try looking at a salvage yard. You might find a street version of you bike. It will have what you need.
