What shocks are you using? They look like Rebel shocks, but it seems like there's too many coils. If not Rebel shocks, can you also say how long are they are?
Thanx!

I am planning a similar seat so I'll defend my co-brat seat owner's choice ...
The seat pans of modern sport bikes are plastic. They have grommets that put the weight on to the frame. The back sides of those grommets are pointy rubber things, that when the foam squishes will easily poke your rear end. That is the main reason why the seats look great, but feel like pins and needles.
The stock XS seat has a metal pan, but much of the rest is the same. It has a lot of padding though (atleast the 82 special I have does).
The trick to making a seat comfortable is -
1. Avoid the pins and needles design. The grommets should not have a pointy back side, or they should be on the frame instead.
2. Foam should not squish into nothing. AKA, high density foam.
3. Contour it to your back side.
One or more of these will be in my design. Probably the first 2.
Anyway I know now my design is called a Brat seat. Good to know.
Cool
Srinath.
