|
Hi Guys,
I'm a UK XS owner, and I love the US Tracker Style bikes,
I am just having my frame blast cleaned and powder coated before completing a tracker conversion.
Obviously any frame mods need doing first,
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Some minor bracing of the swingarm pivot area is supposed to be very helpful. This consists of a couple small tubes run from next to the pivots over to the main backbone down tube. Here's some pics .....

Bracing the stock swingarm or swapping in a newer stiffer arm is, of course, desirable, but the new stiff arm will only transfer the flexing to this pivot area. Best to reinforce it as well.

Thanks thats really helpful..
Any mods to the "rear frame loop", cutting shortening of that area or is it generally left alone?

Most guys seem to cut the rear loop off just behind the upper shock mounts. I guess it may be necessary to clear the new Tracker seat but I'm not crazy about the idea. That leaves nothing to tie the rear of the subframe, or more importantly, the upper shock mounts together. If I had to cut that rear loop off, I think I'd add another directly between the shock mounts with a gentler arch to clear the new seat and the tire on full shock compression. The neatest breather filter mod I've seen is this one. The guy plumbed the breather hoses into the subframe and then stuck breather filters on the end where he cut the loop off .....
