I'm not sure what you'd call it, but my pal Ben said something that let me know I had done a good job. He said "It looks like a Steve McQueen bike."
79 XS 650 lowered and shaved. Handmade fender. Solo seat and chopper wiring. High power coil, single points conversion, high flow exhaust and air filters.

I made the fender out of three stock fenders. You can see in the pic that I had to do a ton of welding and pie cutting, not to mention the zillion skim coats of filler to smooth it all out. The idea was that I could re-use the rubber mounts and stuff, but try to hide them and clean up the appearance.
I lowered the bike by moving the forks up in the trees and putting shorter shocks on it. By shaving I mean that I took/cut off anything that stuck out or was extraneous like turn signals, extra foot pegs, side covers, unused brackets, etc.
