Which of mikes xs mufflers are the least restrictive, the commando mufflers or his shorter universal reverse megaphones?

Taper Tip are least Restrictive. New 07-0114 Muffler makes the most power
Note: 07-0114 with reducer sleeves(#07-0112) has the newest dyno tuned baffle.

Some have been asking is there a worldwide shortage of Mufflers ?
Well Yes, The majority of mufflers made were coming from one factory in Taiwan that was shut down last spring ( original owner died ) but just got back running a couple of months ago. This factory made mufflers for most of the suppliers in the world and it really put a gap in the supply.

JC Whitney, Emgo, Dennis Kirk and distributors in Europe, Canada, the middle east all got the supply from this one place. Ours are made there to our designs and patterns but the same supplier makes many unimproved versions that have a similar outer appearance. 27 years ago I personally carried many of these universal type patterns (mine) to Japan and they were made there until the Japanese Yen increased in value in the mid eightys and after that the production was transfered to Taiwan.

That explains why open pipes are so popular!!

Thanks Mike. Do I understand this correct? Will the 07-0114 mufflers with replaceable baffle fit the stainless steel header pipes or will it only fit the 2 into 1 header pipe?

#07-0114 fits to 45-46mm. stainless headpipes but we will also have the 07-0114 with a reducer sleeve set to fit other sizes ( the muffler with the reducers will be sold as #07-0112). I will try the 07-0114 mufflers to see if it will tighten down enough on the stainless pipes. An ocean container of these mufflers and other parts arrives in about 4 days.

The Baffle in these Mufflers is Removable although all you will do is drop power and make noise if you remove it. The baffle is all mechanical ( No glass packing ) and is adjustable ( by removing any number of the 3 baffle end plugs ) and has the new & much stronger slider mount. A lot of dyno time has gone into this muffler design and I know of no others that will beat it for Power and a reasonable sound level.

So I hav e 77D and I was looking to replace the orignal pipes and mufflers on my bike, they are rusting and dented. I was looking on mikes website and found only original pipes for the 70-73, do these fit on the 77 or am I missing the stock pipes for the 77? Also with the other options on the site what would I have to do to the carbs to make the bike run well??

Stock 77 pipes are larger than 1.5" (38mm.) Diameter. We have headpipes that fit to the bike just not what the stock 77 has which is a double wall pipe with about an 1/1/4" ID and I think a 42 or 44mm OD.
Our pipes are 1.5" OD with about a 1/3/8" ID with the exception of the Stainless Headpipes and the Ascot types.

Does anybody make peashooters that are the proper size to fit mikes stainless headpipes? Which of Mikes XS mufflers would look the best on a cafe style bike? Opinions?
