I had noticed that I had a leak at the top of the exhaust, and there didnt appear to be any gasket in there? So I have ordered some from mikes and they should be here by Monday. Now I started searching on here and it seems that some guys have had problems putting them in. I'm not too handy with bikes at all yet, and I (maybe a bit naive) thought that it was just a matter of taking two bolts of, putting the gasket in the middle and fastening the bolts on again. Is there more to it than that?

Should not be any issue..should go just like you describe....unless they show up too big (rough file, dremel or sander).

Are you sure the old ones aren't still in there, stuck tight against the head?
I usually high temp silicone them into the head, that way I never have to worry about them when I drop the pipes off!
Glue from head to gasket then never seize from header to gasket!
Works for me anyway! Cheers

No I'm not sure the old ones aren't still in there. I will check though. Thanks for replying.
