Well the shifter and break pedal are from a Virago. I fished thru a bucket of parts at a local motorcycle salvage yard and found them. The rubber grommets are from McMastercarr.com(industrial supplier) I ordered new clevis and connecting rods from a industrial supplier in the mid west. I need to turn down the rubber washers to match the brackets I made. I did machine the brackets. I need to make a new connecting arm for the break pedal, it needs offset to align with the break shaft. I will have some one weld it up for me. Currently the shifter joints are worn out with lots of play, but it works.

Oh one more thing, the foot pads are from Drag specialties, cost 24 bucks a set.

I finished the rear sets, just need to re-plate them, New Heim joints, fixed the rubber washers. Most of the parts are available thru McMaster.com I am going to make some new shifter and brake levers next week.

On my gear shift, I just turned the lever around so it is facing backwards, voila instant race shift pattern. I had linkages, but they were worn and messy. Much better with just 1 stick! (though of course the linkages look way cooler).

Nice work, they look great!

Those brackets look great. How do you go with the kick start? On mine I'm removeing it completely, saves the hassle and a fair bit of weight. I figure if it doesn't start on the electric leg then it needs fixing.

I made mine so they fold... fold it up, kick 'er over and fold it back down. I've had the battery run down too many times far away from home to lose the kick starter... it's saved my a$$ a few times.

There is a pic of mine somewhere on here... in someones album I can't remember, King's maybe? I'll try to take another.

edit: found it...

As I said the rod ends and the linkage shaft were from McMaster.com
The shifter rod is plenty strong, the original ones I found at a salvage yard were m6 threads too. The rod ends were around 6 bucks each, and the connecting rod was $12.00. I used Stainless steel shoulder bolts($2.50 each x4) to tie it to the shifter unit. Shoulder bolts are precision bolts that fit nice, with no slop.
I re-engineered the aluminum bracket so I can use standard rubber isolators, I will re-post new pick when it is completed. I used a M8 thread for the brake, for strength. When I make the new brake lever I am going to change the ratio so I can get more braking leverage out of it. Currently it is a 1:1 ration, I think a 1:2 will be better. The foot pegs fold so I could use the kick starter.

Nothing like Stainless steel, especially after it is machined and cleaned!
Just finished up a Stainless Steel Vacuum chamber that weight around 600 pounds. After it is electroplated it looks so sweet!
