after some adventures with the crazy hippie lacer (thanks for the referral, gmaan!), I have the first part of my project finished. Yes, they're sitting in the living room because I love looking at them like this. Now for the rest of this thing!

What brand and size tires are those and where can I get some? Has anyone else used them? How's the ride? Whats the price? Those should look real good on a cafe bike.

Hey Dave,
Judging from those tires, it looks like you're going for the "Brat Style" look:

Seems to have really caught fire in Japan. I've found myself wondering how they'll handle, though.
Best,
Michael

Yep, I really dig the bratstyle stuff... It's such a weird mix of flat track, cafe, and generic old skool, I love it!

Don't mean to nag but I would still like to get some more info about those tires. Any pictures of the project so far?

oops, sorry man
They're firestone champions, 400/19 front, 450/18 rear. Coker usually has them. Don't think they're the way to go if you're looking for all out performance, but they look killer!
The rest of the project is scattered around the garage floor right now and isn't much to look at yet. I'll post more as I go

How's the project coming? I am anxious to see some pictures with those tires mounted on the bike. I am thinking about ordering a set myself. I realize they aren't going to make for the best handling but they sure look old style.

yeah, this is definitely not going to be a bike meant for high speed maneuvers, just for cruising in style. I have the forks test built, just got the seat in last night, and will hopefully be doing a full test build of the frame etc. in the next few weeks. Interestingly enough, as this project goes on, it's turning more and more bratsyle streettracker than cafe racer!

GMAAN! That's awesome!!!! I'm finally getting close to needing them, I think
I got the frame back from the powdercoater two weeks ago, engine is now in, swingarm is in, and I just finished cleaning up the triple clamp tonight. I'll try to get some pics up soon.
