Hello all,
I can’t figure out what type of seat to put on my bike. I have attached a picture of my bike and I’m look for suggestions on what seat to put on her. I’m currently sanding down the gas tank and tail end. I’m going to paint it flat black. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks…

Looks good! Just a thought; get some 1/2"-3/4" high density foam. you can layer that stuff as thick as you like. Carve it into shape, cover with whatever your into and use contact cement to glue it to your seat.
If you want to bolt it down, 4 very large washers with countersunk screws could be used on the second top foam layer.
Or just paint a seat on!

Here are some ideas:
www.ricambiweiss.de/index.php
especially look for classic seats at Moto Guzzi and Ducati.
oh yes, and for your brainstorming another site worth looking at:
www.thetankshop.com/
But DO NOT look at the prices! Hell of expensive ...
If you like the seat on my XS (see gallery), I could post more pics showing details of the seat cover and mounting to the frame. Just say so.

Whatever you dont get involved with the Tank Shop , hes the most unreliable ****** Ive EVER come accross, as scores of dissapointed UK bikers will testify too !!

I made a street tracker that the foam was made from layers of carpet padding (free old stuff)then carved with a electric knife, then i used a piece of soft plastic with expanding sunk nuts.(ther'e like a rubber plug) I found them at a hardware store. I can send you a pic,i think i still have one.

How hard is it to get the foam covered with leather? I haven't done that before.
Yamaman,
Do you have a picture of your seat? I like that one.
sesamharold,
Thanks for the ideas!
Scalejockey,
Could you send me a picture if you still have one?
