oh nice. Its not my tank. Its just one they had laying around detroit bros. I really like it though.

He also had a HD Rapido 125 tank there. It looks huge compared to that though. Im kind of between tanks right now. No idea what I want.

Looks cool, however it appears that the use or lack of use of aircleaners was an afterthought, considering that the seat stays are in the way now.

We have that planned out. For now its how it is. We are gonig to see if we can modify the carbs and try to kit them out at a slight angle each side. I thought we would have more room to get the 45 degree K&N filters in there. But it is not enough room.

There have been other small issues we have run into that are becoming costly but as we fix them in the end it will make the bike a nicer bike.

Well at any rate, Detroit Bros. do excellent work and it is going to be a SICK lookin chop. I wasn't try to be a dick when I mentioned the aircleaners..... I just ran into that same design flaw when I did mine. I drew it out on paper and found that same issue, I wanted a drop seat as well. So I extended the backbone back, which killed two birds, drop seat air cleaners fit, and now the use of a larger tank, a 3.3 gallon sporty.

Yeah. I knew I was going to have the issue. I just didn't realize how big the problem would be until we got this far. They just want to modify the cards. It will also add a little style as well I guess at the expense of a couple more dollars.

Should be a beauty! I really like your spoke wheels. Are they stock spokes, just re-done? How did you do that?

No pictures. I was up there today. The frame is all cleaned up. We took off all the BS not needed and cleaned up the backbone. Other then clean up we got extentions for the forward controls mounted and the tank finally mounted.

Next we are swaping out the rear wheel for an old harley mag style wheel and converting it to a disc brake setup. Need to find a rear caliper I want to put on it. Also will be mounting the rear fender, Battery box, Seat pan, Taking the extra mounting brackets off of the forks and planning what we are doing for all the electronics.

After that I think its ready for powdercoating. I just need to plan out the colors. No Idea what I want it to be.

The spokes are stock. I have noticed it on some of the 82 XS650s I don't know if it is on any other years. I think you could probably lace any wheel like that. Not sure don't have experience lacing spokes.

nothing yet. so far just got the seat pan and forward controls done. We are having problems with the rear wheel. Ended up having a weird set up and had issues with how it holds the bearings. We are waiting for a new wheel before they can mount the rear wheel and get the caliper on.

Wow looks great. That thing is low, Just wondering what you are going to do about the front forks. I love the low look but isnt that going to beat the s*** out of your fork seals when ur bottoming out all the time. And what kinda foam was used on the tank.

Alright here is where she sits now. Carbs are off again. Have had a lot of peoblems with the carbs because they were painted by a previous owner. All kinds of s*** inside of them. I have a feeling they need to be replaced. Stripped everything out and rebuilt them and still having issues with leaking on the right carb. Also been having igniton issues witch are now all fixed and the latest problem is in the charging system that just popped up 2 days ago.

Either way. Here are the picks. enjoy.

I've seen that bike at the shop. Very cool. How come you ditched the spoke wheel in the back, and do you have the old swing arm?
