So i have been looking though the forums, and I was curious if I would need to do any mods to the forks and rear swing arm, to run a wider tire, I was thinking 140 to 180 in the rear and 120 in the front... Also where can i find some rims that would work to accomidate the bigger tire size

You might squeeze a 140 on the rear, but never a 180. The swing arm is too narrow and the chain is too close to the wheel. As for the front, I think 110 is stock, so a 120 might be doable.

What year is the bike? Cast or spoke wheels?

I'm running a 120-90 on the front of my '81. Widths can vary depending on tire brand, though.

As for the rear, if your bike is a Special and you've got spoke wheels, your rim width is 2.75" compared to the cast wheel's 3.00". You can probably get away with a 140 with a cast rear, but for a spoke rear, that's pushing it.

The standard (ie, not the Special) rear is 2.15" wide. 120 is about as wide as you'd want to go with the stock rims.

To go with anything wide, you're looking at custom SA fabbing, offsetting the sprockets, etc. Lotsa work. I've seen it done, though. Just depends on how bad you want a fat rear tire and how much you're prepared to spend.

Best,

Michael
