Hey Y'all,
Chili here fom Goliad Texas. First let me say that I'm impressed with the the number of bikes on this site that are ridable and/or ridden. I've checked out a few other sites and it seems that though they are always slammin harleys the only finished bikes in the gallery were harleys. I have a '77/early '78 xs650 that I traded a $500 outboard for about 10 years ago. I rode it for a summer then cut it up. I welded up a hardtail rear for it(5.5 inch stretch),made a seat pan out of an old yield sign padded with a swim float foam and covered it with one of my wifes old leather mini skirts. Got a trailer fender for the back, put the stock tailight on a fabbed side mount with a radiused plate frame. I just recently acquired an old sportster tank for her. So finally after all these years it looks like this old ride is finally coming together. I don't have a digital camera or even a cell phone to post pictures with so the description will have to do for now. I enjoy playing with my 650 even though I haven't rode it in forever. I do ride though, and have been since 1980. My current ride is a '95 springer softail(don't hate me), and ride with the Gypsy M/C. I'm at work and gotta go (whew!) Ask me questions and I'll respond. chili

Hey Chili, welcome aboard. Ya gotta get us some pics man. I like the mini skirt idea. Now who in their right mind would hate someone for having a Springer. I'd give my left nut for one. Hope ya get the XS roadworthy soon. Give us a shout.
Wulf
