Hiya, I'm Jason. I just got my first XS, an '83 XS650 Heritage Special. I have plans to make a nice classic custom bike out of her. I currently also own a 74 RD350, 77 RD400, 80 CB750 custom, and a 63 Triumph Bonneville 650 custom.

My very first question is, I have an opportunity to buy a 77 XS400 for a parts bike. What parts are transferable between the 77 XS400 and 83 XS650? I don't much like the carbs on the XS650 and wouldn't mind getting the parts bike for the carbs, can they transfer no prob?

I also do artsy things, here's my website www.vorhese.com

Thanks! Here's a pic of my XS as bought:

Welcome aboard Jason. Great scoot ya got there. So where ya from. As for the carbs you can pick up a set of Mikuni's for around 275-300.

I doubt the XS400 carbs or anything eles on the bike would do much for your 650. Check eBay for parts there's always a bunch available. And welcome to the forum!!!
