I've been trying for a couple of hours to bang out my camshaft internal seals and bushings. I'm using a long drift-like rod but can't get enough on the ridges of seal to drive it out. Has anyone removed these successfully before? Any tricks?

try a drill bit slightly larger dia. than the bushing slow speed you want it to grab the bushing not drill it and start it spinning then pull it out

do you have a grinder? if so grind the end of your punchso it matches the curve of the bushing and at an angle so the edge hits the bushing flat.
