I got a rigid frame for a 78 Yamaha 650 from a friends buddy who in turn got the frame from a guy for a bunch of parts. Kinda confusing huh? Well anyway the neck on it is shorter than a stock frame. The stock frame is 7 1/2 and the rigid frame is 6 3/4 so i cant put on my stock triple trees. I could just switch the two necks but was curious if anyone had any ideas on what i could do without going through all that work. Anything would help. Thank you

My guess is the frame was set up for Harley forks. Does the neck have bearing cups in it, and is it 5-5/8" (measured between-not including-the bearing cups)? This would be standard for a Harley tripple tree.

BTW, before you go swapping necks, check the registration laws in your state as sometimes registering a frame without a title that matches the number on the neck can be difficult.

It measures about 5 1/4 between bearing cups. Im going to try to track him dn today and try to find out. I never got a title for the rigid frame i was just going to use my old title. I dont know what the state laws are but i shouldnt have a problem with it. I hope not anyway but ill let you know if i found out anything. Thanks
