Does anyone know if an FZR600 front end(forks and tree) will fit on a 650?
Has anyone tried this?

I'm in the process of engineering a dual front disk setup with FZR calipers and rotors and found a front end for sale on ebay. I would rather retrofit a better(?) FZR fork than machine a custom adapter to mate the FZR calipers to my XS fork if its possible. Any thoughts? Thanks

Collin

From what I can remember when I looked into doing this a while back the problem was that the forks on the FZR were something like 40mm diameter & they were shorter in length....I have used FZR discs before as they will bolt straight onto the XS hub...I had the old lugs ground off the fork legs & new ones welded on to save having to make up an alloy plate to relocate the FZ caliper

Thanks, I think I'm going to stick with the original forks.

I currently have 2 FZR600 front ends that I'm toying with.
Some bent parts, but between the 2 there is 1 1/2 good front ends.

This is gonna be a winter project, and I will get it sorted out. I want to have 38mm front forks.

It was neat to find out that the XS rotors and FZR rotors are 11". It's also gonna be nice to have twin free-floating rotors.

Check out my thread in the new to the site forum titled "Noob."
I explain more in there.

Yeah, rotors have the same bolt pattern too. I'm just about finished with the dual disk setup. I stuck with the fzr rotors but went with sv650 calipers. I will post some pictures when I get it finished. Nice project by the way.

As soon as you get that setup dialed in, please let me know.
I just bought a whole new XS front end and now I'm on the fence about the FZR forks.
I'd really like to use the FZR's for obvious reasons.
