How about some kind of photo sequence of some kind. Seems like there are many around so I'm thinking it must be fairly easy. anyone?

black widow choppers makes a hardtail for the xs. i think their site might have some photo`s there. mater of fact it might be easier to just let them do it. where the cuts are made you slide 2 solid metal(about 4 inch long) slugs into the lower frame tubing then weld the seam and the slug together. the upper i belive is just welded to the downtube. the precice fit of the front and new rear section is imperitive. they have a frame jig if you dont you will have to be careful in measuring the alignment.

Here's the best site I've ever found on fabricating your own bike. This guy has step-by-step instructions on building your own frame, which should be easy to adapt to building a tail section. He also has lots of info on tire selection, rake/trail, and is currently putting up info on designing and building your own girder forks.
