I have a front end off of a 71. What years will this fit? It has 34mm fork tubes and the old style wheel & disc brake. Can it be made to fit a late model frame?

yes, so long as you have the correct yokes for those forks it'll go straight on

Just FYI the front end you have fits 71 through 73 From 74 on the stem is longer and the forks went to 35mm. It is very difficult to remove the stem from the tree's they are alloy not steel. tend to bend not remove. Not to say it can't be done, or as previously mentioned in another post you could lengthen the stem with a section of tubing.
Anything can be made to work but not with out modification!
