i tried to install a ricks motorsport electrics 10-503 (marshall 11-3421 ) rectifer on my 78 xs 650 and can not find a wiring diag anywhere. the ones i do find are for a bike with a reg/rect. my bike has seperate reg and rect. can someone help a brother out

Stark, try PM to pamcopete, he would be the guy to help you with charging system problem's. He has a thread somewhere here on using radio shack stuff, & all for like $20.

the motorsport electrics 10-503 is a reg/rec to use it you will need to change your alternator grounded brush to a ungrounded using nylon screws

alright thank you guys so much.. after much tinkering i noticed that there was wire nuts all over my bike... corrosion, and loose connections was the issue.. but now i can return my 90 dollar rect. and just clean up some wiring
