I wrote to corbin to ask if they could make me a cafe style seat and their reply was rather interesting.
Thank you very much for your interest in our products, we've been making
seats over 39 years and are the leading motorcycle seat manufacture in the
country.
Sorry, we don't make a seat for your bike. However we do offer a ride in
service in Hollister California we can make any seat you would like in
about 4 hours we have a restaurant on site and we'll charge you the same as
the closest comperable seat. The phone # to set an appointment is
1-800-260-7328. We would need the entire bike as well, not just the seat.
Oh well, NY to Cal is a long ride.

is your bike stock where the seat mounts? You should find out if someone on here has the same model of bike and lives local to Hollister. Maybe they can loan the shop their bike to make up your custom seat.
I'm about two hours away from Hollister and my bike doesn't run yet or else I would be game to help you out.
Just a thought...

If you wouldn't mind having a cafe-style seat done on your existing pan, I don't see why they would need the bike. Sounds to me like whoever it was that responded to your email's been drinking coolaid out of the other bottle.
Sargent's will do it -- you get what you pay for, though (read, expensive):

They need the bike probably to check the lines/design. It makes perfect sense if you think about it, you wouldn't want someone building you a tank without the bike there to check dimensions, and lines(flow of the part).

I'm looking for a seat for a special too. The reason corbin wants you to come on sight is so that they can custom build it to your body. It's a great service, if you live some place local.
I can't believe that there are no options out there for a seat, this sucks.
