Remember when the classic drill for points adjustment on the road was slip a matchbook cover between the contacts. That was your adjustment! It always worked to get you home!

My stock shocks in a 1976 XS650C are shot. They look new, but there is virtually no damping action. It's like riding a pogo stick. So, here are the questions:
