I decided to get it running today, still no rear brake or electronic box. Just laid wiring harness across my lap.
Exhaust sounds great! Maybe a tiny bit louder than mac with baffles and won't cause ... |

i have a mac dual megaphone exhaut. since i hardtailed my bike i cut the mufflers off and now have drag pipes.

since a quarter out is where it's set, how will clutch engagement be effected if you go past 1/4 or less than 1/4.
if i can't get it right with adjustment i'll even try more or less than 1/4 to get ... |

i've been setting it till it is seated kind of like finger tight when you set zero lash on a rocker arm with a hydrualic cam on its base circle.
i can tighten it more after it seats, it feels like ... |

turn the screw till it bottoms out or till i get resistance? i've been doing it at resistance. i can tighten it down more if need be. |

if your bike runs good now, save your money. filter, exhaust, carb tune, etc... can only make so much more power on a 50hp bike. |

anybody else, clutch is adjusted correctly and it engages within a millimeter or 2 of the clutch being completely released. |

installed the pamco electronic ignition on my 79. easy install, but directions are a little confusing and should be updated. bike seems to run perfect and i'm very happy. i'd recommend it to everyone, ... |

all in one week it went from starting easily to nearly impossible to start when warm and now to unable to start at all.

when cold it's a one kicker (electric start doesn't work yet). when op temp it put my right hamstring into a coma. was at a friends house and couldn't get it restarted and ended up push starting it.

my 650 has the mac dual megaphone exhaust with bare baffles. sounds decent, planned on removing the baffles after i chop it or runnng drags.

79 xs650 special with the dual petcocks feeding each carb. when i switch to a sporty tank is it as simple as running one petcock and T'ing it to each carb? or?
