hey everyone,

i have a 79 that i've been working on for a few months, now at the last steps i'm stuck with an ignition fuse issue. i made a custom electrical box and moved a few components around, now i'm blowing the fuse everytime i turn the key on. i regapped the regulator points and bumped the fuse size up to 15A from 10, same problem....

does anyone have an idea as to what may be causing this, or where i could start testing to narrow down suspects?

thanks!

Was the bike working properly before u made the new electrical box and moved components around? If so than I guess it's obvious where to start. If the bike has not run since you owned it you can always start with a visual inspection check in headlight mess, then get a box of fuses and break the electrical system down into sections for instances unplug stator put fuse in if it blows mark it off plug stator back in and move on to next component, make a copy of your wiring diagram and just check things off or highlight them after checking them et. That's the way I have done it in the past you"ll eventually find it. You can use a meter to check for draws breaks resistance also but sometimes a 5 dollar box of fuses and the elimination game works quick and easy
