Hi everyone,

I just registered on this site hoping to find some input now and in the furture.

I am restoring a 1977 XS 650D. I am trying to figure out what to do with the engine. It ran fine, so I don't necessarily want to spend the money on breaking it down.

I would like to paint the engine silver, maybe partly black. Has anyone here experience with that? What paint do I use. I read somewhere that paining the engine might cause it to overheat which would be a problem 'cause I live in Southern Calli. Sad Any facts on that out here?

Welcome to the forum. I think if you look through the gallery you will find lots of members who have painted their engines. You can send them a PM to get info from ones you like I guess. As far as overheating from paint I haven't heard of it. We like to see pictures if you can put one up.
